Terms of Service

By creating an account or using SMART-RV ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account. False information, including false certification credentials, is grounds for immediate termination.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • One person may not maintain more than one account without written permission from SMART-RV.

2. Technician accounts and credentials

  • Technician accounts require proof of professional certification (NRVIA, RVIA, or equivalent). Submitting falsified credentials is fraud and will result in permanent account termination and potential legal action.
  • The Verified Pro badge is awarded at SMART-RV's sole discretion based on credential verification and knowledge base contribution quality.
  • SMART-RV may revoke verified status at any time if standards are not maintained.
  • Technicians are responsible for the accuracy of field cases they submit. Knowingly submitting false or misleading case data is grounds for termination.

3. Knowledge base contributions

  • By submitting a field case, you grant SMART-RV a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and incorporate that content into diagnostic protocols.
  • You represent that you have the right to submit the information and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
  • SMART-RV reserves the right to reject, modify, or remove any submission that does not meet quality standards.
  • Peer review decisions (approve, revise, reject) are final subject to SMART-RV's appeal process.

4. Diagnostic disclaimer

  • SMART-RV diagnostic protocols are informational only. They are not a substitute for professional inspection or repair by a qualified technician.
  • SMART-RV makes no warranty that any protocol will resolve your specific issue. RV systems vary by manufacturer, model year, and condition.
  • SMART-RV is not liable for any damage, injury, or cost resulting from reliance on diagnostic content provided through the Service.
  • If you are unsure whether a repair is safe to attempt yourself, hire a qualified technician.

5. Payments and subscriptions

  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at signup. Annual billing provides a 10% discount.
  • Paid subscriptions begin immediately upon signup. You may cancel at any time before the next billing date to avoid future charges.
  • You may cancel at any time. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods.
  • SMART-RV reserves the right to change subscription prices with 30 days notice. If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel before the new price takes effect.
  • SMART-RV does not charge commissions on jobs completed between techs and owners. The flat subscription fee is the sole charge.

6. Prohibited conduct

  • You may not use SMART-RV to spam, harass, or defraud other users.
  • You may not scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from SMART-RV without written permission.
  • You may not attempt to circumvent security measures, access other users' accounts, or manipulate the peer review system.
  • You may not post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or that infringes intellectual property rights.
  • You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.

7. Termination

  • SMART-RV may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms.
  • You may delete your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for information on data retention after deletion.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

8. Limitation of liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, SMART-RV is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • SMART-RV's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

9. Governing law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
  • Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property infringement.

10. Changes to these terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Terms with a revised date and, where appropriate, by email.
  • Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
